Welcome to our study

Rating faces

In this study we are investigating your perception of faces. You will be asked to rate images for two of several different traits. For example, you may be asked to rate the images for a trait such as attractiveness or masculinity. The trait will be explained to you before rating begins.

Before you decide whether you would like to take part, please read the following information carefully.

You are eligible to participate if you are over the age of 16. Taking part in this research is entirely voluntary.

What does the study involve?
You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about yourself. You will then be asked to judge 60 face images for two different traits, and you will see the same faces twice. The study will take around 10 minutes to complete. After you complete the survey, you will be informed in more detail about the specific aims and hypotheses of this study.

Will my information be kept confidential?
The information you provide in this study is anonymous. No identifying information will be asked of you. As the information you provide is anonymous, it will not be possible to withdraw your data upon completion of the study. However, you may end your participation at any time by closing your browser. Your data will be retained for each section you complete if you select "Continue" or complete the face ratings.

Are there any risks associated with taking part in this study?
There are no identified risks in taking part in this research.
