What is this study about?
You are invited to take part in this online study
that investigates the effect of different types of negative emotional
arousal (human arousing objects vs. non-human arousing objects) on
recognition and of distinctive and non-distinctive (typical) faces.
What will I be required to do?
You will firstly view a series of mildly arousing
images, which will either be human or non-human subjects. This may be
poisonous/dangerous animals or a fight scene between people. You will then
view a slideshow of 16 faces. Then, you will complete a recognition task,
and identify which faces you have or have not seen in the initial slideshow.
Following this, you will be asked a couple of simple follow up questions.
How long will it take?
The study will approximately take 15 minutes.
